Mark is truly an expert with radiant heat and boilers. Was 100% satisfied with the job he did. If you have any issues with your boiler or your hot water heating systems i would call DHL Mechanical Calgary to have them take a look. Marks Knows his stuff!!!

DHL responded in the dead of winter to replace an old low efficiency boiler that failed with a new high efficiency IBC system. Not only did they do amazing work (see the photo), but their attention to detail was so strong that they went around and fixed and brought up to code a bunch of errors that a local big-name company did when that competitor installed a new furnace years ago. Mark and his sons and staff are amazing!

I would highly recommend Mark and the courteous crew from DHL. They completed the repair work on my radiant heating system on time and on budget along with leaving the site spotlessly clean. Explained what was to be completed and why. Thanks for the toasty warm house.

DHL Mechanical just completed a major project for me and they did a fantastic job. Mark gave me all of the time that I needed to talk through and understand the technology that they were proposing. Where I had questions, Mark took the time to ensure that I really understood all of the considerations. In the end, the solution they put in for me blew me away. Mine is an IBC Boiler with an IBC indirect tank and and IBC Titanium Heat Exchanger. The system provides heat for our radiant in-floor heating, our household hot water AND my 500 gallon marine reef aquarium! So, I have a 115,000 BTUs of heating capacity and a system that is sensitive enough to maintain the heat in a fragile eco-system. There is some magic at work here, but it works brilliantly and will lower my electrical bill and my green footprint. The installation was top notch. The pictures speak for themselves. DHL puts these systems in properly and won't compromise on quality for any reason. A quality installation is simply a requirement when expecting a long service life from the equipment. An improper installation will undoubtably result in premature failure and expensive service calls. We love our indirect water tank. This isn’t steel and glass like a traditional hot water tank. Instead it’s fiberglass with a stainless-steel heat exchanger inside the tank. It should last forever, or at least a lot longer than a traditional tank. The 115,000 BTUs is enough to reheat the water as fast as a shower consumes it, ensuring that we never run out of hot water. And at 96% efficiency, this is a green system. The boiler modulates down to 14,000 BTUs. This low output heat is perfect for our radiant floors. Low and constant temperatures are the key here. Coming from a system where the floor was heated with our household hot water, the new system is a dream. Why would you use a low efficiency hot water tank to heat a floor? The old system never really worked for us. We have also moved away from a traditional thermostat to a floor sensing model. This gives us the ability to maintain the temperature of the slab directly. Overall, this provides much more stability in our heating systems. Finally, I have to share how impressed I was by the electrical work that DHL and their partners did to put this system in. This went well beyond simply making it work. Everything was done to ensure that the electrical connections were optimized and serviceable. It was done so well that it really just fades into the back ground and is barely noticeable. I would recommend DHL any day. Their many reviews and references speak for themselves. I wanted to share my story because there are some unique capabilities built in and they did such a great job.

DHL Mechanical (Mark Davie) is not only a true expert with boilers and hydronic/piping systems, but he is also perfectionist, and extremely meticulous from the time he enters your home, to when he has completed the job. Even better yet, he is very honest, and is amazing at promptly responding to service calls and backing up his work. The nice thing about DHL is the person you talk to on the phone when you call is the person overseeing the work. DHL's knowledge an know-how can competently complete small and large jobs of any type. You know he's the right guy when other contractors see his work and stop to admire it.
