Our home warranty company picked RL Allen Plumbing to help me with a leaky faucet, so I immediately went to Google maps to read the reviews. It seemed the reviews were very bad, but I remained positive. In fact, I was going to mention to the plumber that his online reviews are terrible, and I hoped to be the guy to make a difference. The plumber showed up on time, the visit went well, and he promised to give me exact costs on installation, faucet costs, out of pocket costs for me, etc. When he left I was excited about getting one faucet repaired and potentially two, but I never received any of this information. He was going to have his boss send me photos of faucets immediately, but none of that happened. Following his visit I was called by the company so they could collect the $75 fee for the visit and I paid it promptly, but I was under the impression that I was going to get my faucet fixed. Unfortunately, that's not what happened, so I've decided to buy two new faucets myself, and find a local plumber via NextDoor who can give me a straight up estimate and get my faucets installed in a timely fashion.

Installed a new water heater that failed Frisco inspection. Did not return calls for two weeks to schedule a return visit to remedy. Had to call electrician to properly ground the unit and place the bonding wire to code. Had to take over the permit as homeowner to get the water heater reinspected after electrician resolved issues because contractor wouldn’t return calls. About as bad as you get for a so-called licensed contractor. Embarrassing work, and they would rather not respond than rectify. Sort of the definition of zero stars and unprofessional work, but you have to give a star to rate them so here’s you’re one star.

RL Allen is the worst, most unprofessional company I have ever interacted with. I would not recommend anyone use them if you need someone who is actually reliable. I had an appointment for them to come out. They could not tell me the 4 hour window during which they would show up until the day of. Even then, I personally had to call to find out what the window would be; I had to take an entire day off work to wait at home for them. I waited for them to show and 20 mins before the end of my 4 hour window to let me know they wouldn't be able to make it within the window anymore. If you need someone reliable, who can give you a reasonable time frame during which they will show up, and who will actually stick to it, DO NOT work with R.L. Allen.

Well, they sent me an email asking for my opinion and here it is: I would never use them again. They charged me $360 for work which took 18 minutes and less than $18 worth of parts and that was after a $50 charge to look at it the first time.. When they handed me the bill, I asked if I could get a detailed list of the parts. They said sure, but never gave me that list. I would never, ever use them again.
