Day 3 of a technician coming to see why my heat keeps coming on when the thermostat is turned off. They don't give you a time so someone basically has to be here all day waiting (you know, because our time isn't important). The guy that came on the second day supposedly fixed the problem the first day he was here (I was not here at the time). He didn't and we had to have him come again the next day. When he came the second time, I was here. He didn't fix the problem, but made a diagnosis and said he detached a wire that was causing the problem. He said the heat would not come on again without me turning it on, but the wire issue had to be fixed. It came back on though. I had to keep the furnace off or else it was so hot in here, that my dog would actually get sick. The guy also smelled like alcohol, but, not knowing him or wanting to get to close, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He seemed to be acting normally. I found out later, that when he left, he ran over my landlord's stoop damaging it, as well as knocking off a cesspool cover that had recently been installed (although it had a cone near it). Luckily, no one fell in the open cesspool (my landlord has small children) and my landlord discovered it in time to recover it. I suggest this company check out its employees. The tech that came today seemed okay. He stated that the thermostat was bad and that the prior tech had left something open (some handle) which is why it was still getting hot. Now, just waiting to see what happens from here. But. the owner definitely needs to check out his employees.
