I met Rick and his wife late in 2017 while working with them in a real estate transaction. Since then I have called on Rick to help when I have a listing that needs attention after a buyer has their inspection. He has been super helpful in times of need, and I wanted make sure he was recognized for the great guy he is. Around the holidays, we had a bathtub not draining so I called Rick and asked for advice. He came over on a Sunday to clear the line, and the cost was very reasonable. I then had a company run a camera in the pipes to see if there were any issues within the drains of the home, as well as the sewer line to the street. They found a pretty large low spot in the drain line just before it left the house. I shared the video with Rick, and he came over and inspected the drain lines under the house. He let me know that they were not supported well and there were sags in the plastic lines in multiple places, and that I needed to strongly consider replacing them all and then having them supported better so they could not sag again. See, once the planting lines sag, it is not possible to get that sag back out. Last week I had Rick replace all the drain lines in the home along with the sump pump. He discovered a broken part on the sump pump and then found it would cost less to replace the pump than to get the needed part to fix it. Now the lines are all new, and I can say I am glad Rick was the man for the job. He took care of the issue and the bill was very reasonable for the 4 days of work that had to be done. I had an operational house every night so my family did not have to go stay in a hotel etc while this was being done, even though I offered to do this. Thank you Rick for the outstanding work, in depth explanations, and fair honest pricing.

I hired Rick to do repairs on a rental home I own in Puyallup. I live out of state and was a bit skeptical when i first spoke to him, but boy am i glad i went with Rick at 1st Rate Construction. He is extremely knowledgeable, very personable, honest and more than fair. I called about half a dozen other contractors and most wouldn't even give me the time of day. Rick was out to my house the following day and I had a quote in my inbox that night. Working with the insurance companies can be a pain, but Rick was patient and understanding making the whole process a lot less stressful. When working with him you can tell he is a small business owner and truly cares about the customer. I am very satisfied with the work he and his crew has done and would recommend them to anyone looking to get repairs/remodel done to their home.

My roof is leaking which is stressful enough and then when I call this company because someone said they are great and the answered the phone all rude and told me that they are too busy to even talk to me. You are running a business at least have some tact. I hope your work is better than your customer service. Disgraceful!
