Angelo Marano review about company American Leak Detection of Southern New Jersey and Delaware
These guys were a waste of time and money. Came out to the house to try to figure out where a water mark on the ceiling of one of my first floor rooms was coming from. Tech spent 45 minutes at the house, a large portion of which was ON THE PHONE, just to come back and say he couldn't figure it out, it must be the roof, and then charge us 225 dollars. No explaination as to why I don't see water on the second floor and the attic is dry, no indication on the roof as to where the leak is, nothing, just simply the fact that they don't detect leaks coming from roofs. When I called later to ask what kind of leaks they CAN detect, they said "plumbing and other intrusion". I don't know what other intrusion is, other than the roof, but apparently if you don't have an obviously leaky pipe, these guys can't figure it out, but will happily charge you to shrug their shoulders. Hire someone who can actually detect a leak. Bonus picture of the tech spending time on the phone rather than doing his job. EDITED FOR REPLY: I mean, you're kind of proving my point for me; if you knew that the leak happened during the rain and you also knew that you couldn't "replicate a rainstorm", isn't it dishonest to charge someone to attempt to detect a leak you already knew you couldn't detect? Just asking for you to be a professional and say it's out of your league, that's all.
