Here’s my review for Mechanically inclined: its live First off, I would like to say, I don’t typically write reviews unless it truly warrants awareness. We had a home warranty with HMS and Mechanically Inclined was the “preferred service partner.” One rep came to give us a quote for our AC until, smelling of marijuana. The rep diagnosed as a “totaled” unit and proceeded to pressure us for an upgraded model. My husband actually checked and saw the terrible reviews for the suggested upgraded unit they were raving about and they were charging almost $400 more. MI had very poor communication as well as HMS throughout this process. Both were blame switching and at the end no resolve. We had no AC for 1.5 weeks during the dead of summer and no one followed up or seemed to have a sense of urgency for our business. After several calls, 1 no show (follow up visit), my husband called MI and requested to speak to management. She only wanted to communicate via email. My husband had several unanswered questions and called for the last time. She not only refused to talk with him but proceeded to talk through her rep as she relayed answers to my husband. We just wanted to know when we could receive our AC unit which they would have received a pretty penny from us/HMS. I hate to imagine what it would be like if we actually had a mechanical issue after doing business with them. Needless to say, we opted to pay $8k to One Hour - phenomenal customer service, fair, honest, responsive, not pushy nor smelling of weed and sensitive in our desperate hour. It was worth our investment to go with someone else vs getting a “free unit” with HMS/Mechanically inclined. I feel this speaks volumes. Shame on management!
