I recently called out Coastal Drains due to a blockage at my property. The member of staff arrived and spent 5 minutes at the property and explained that the drain work was illegal and there was only one way of sorting the problem we had. No scans or surveying of the drain or area was undertaken and after 5 minutes the member of staff left the property and explained a quote would be sent through shortly. A few days later we received a quote for £895 plus VAT for the work to be undertaken. We called out a local plumber for a second opinion, not only did the plumber provide a variety of different solutions, he charged me only £50 to resolve the issue. Would definitely not recommend Coastal Drains!

called Coastal drains out Monday night at 10pm for a blocked toilet/soil pipe. The engineer was here in about 30 minutes and the job was done very quickly and at a reasonable cost. Then the pipe got blocked again 4 days later and they came out and cleared it for free. A very friendly, prompt professional service, Thank you Coastal drains.

If I could put no starts I would. After receiving a report from the tenants that the drain at the back of the property was blocked we instructed Coastal Drains who advised that they would attempt to remove the blockage and also insert a camera into the main drain to establish what caused it. We received no feedback after there first visit and was surprised to receive a call from the tenants 24 hours later to advise that it was blocked again. Coastal drains made a second visit, again no feedback and soon after the tenants advised that the drain was blocked again. The third visit by coastal drains, the tenants overheard the men attending have a very explicit conversation which was unpleasant and extremely unprofessional, the excess to the main drain is through a tiled manhole cover in the downstairs toilet, rather than unscrew the cover, they forced it open which caused severe damage to the tiles, they then made a diagnosis by just looking into the drain that this was the responsibility of Southern Water. They then left the property with the manhole cover not even put back in places correctly and the most alarming left debris all over the floor which included sharp splinters of the tiles which could have easily led to someone having a nasty accident. At no time was permission given to damage the floor and the most staggering at no time did anyone from Coastal Drain keep us informed. A telephone call by ourselves to southern water established immediately that it was not their responsibility as it was a single drain. We have approached Coastal Drains about this and they have refused to accept any liability and still expect their invoice to be paid but for what we really do not know.
