We needed a plumber to fix a toilet that was leaking into the bowl after flushing. We knew where the problem was as we had had a similar problem in another toilet and my wife told the plumber when he arrived. However, when the plumber arrived the first thing he said was it was the tablets you can put in the back of the cistern, even although my wife pointed out the problem and this was an issue from when we moved into the house. If the tablets were the source of the problem then an easy fix??? He ignored my wife and then took an hour to initially identify what he thought the problem was. Then informed her he needed to go and buy a part to fix the problem. After coming back he fitted the part and the problem was still persisting. Now I would have assumed a suitably qualified plumber can easily identify the problem and be able fix a leaking toilet. This must be a common issue. So after realising his initial diagnosis was wrong he needed to go and get another part. There are only two parts within the toilet and they both needed replacing. This meant him going back out the house and going to find another part. The cost of his time to go and buy parts is an additional charge. Both parts should have been bought at one time and we feel this was a timewasting tactic to increase our bill. Furthermore, he went to a Wickes store in West Wickham to buy the parts and we live in Orpington where there are plenty of plumbing stores nearer. This is further evidence of timewasting tactics. All this took 3 hours and 30 minutes bearing in mind his initial diagnosis was tablets causing the problem?? does this sound like a qualified person who knew what he was doing. All in all the cost we were charged to fix this problem was £420.14 which seems ridiculous (both parts only cost around £15 each). I believe we could have had a new toilet installed for a less than or a similar amount. We will not be using this company again in the future as the plumber we were sent took his time to diagnose a reltivley straightforward identifiable problem and we feel he used timewasting tactics to run up our bill.
a massive thank nyou to Engineer Mike who stopped a leak at our office last night. Excellent job done
I was experiencing some issues with the boiler. The plumber was very clean. He created very little mess and also wore shoe covers for hygienic purposes!
They installed our new boiler and we are pleased with the service
This company carried out my boiler service with great punctuality and a high degree of accuracy. Will recommend it to others!
