My gas boiler has a flow sensor faulty. To get the plumber from Safe Gas to fix it I had to pay on front £96 for 'service and repair'. The guy found the problem in 5 min and he said the part needs to be ordered so I've rung office next day and they told me that they can get this sensor for £115 + fitting £56. I asked them what a hell did I pay at the first time and they said that the 'service' couldn't be done because the boiler was faulty and 'repair' couldn't happen either because the plumber had no part for it. It's a f... CATCH-22. The same day I've checked the part on-line and most plumbing suppliers selling this sensor for £10, I've bout mine for £11.60 (include delivery) local plumber fitted the sensor in 15min and he charged me only £20. Safe Gas seriously needs to rethink they service prices, after all they are only plumbers, not a hospital surgeon who's may be charged £96 per 5min. I don't mine to pay that kind of money if the service will be right away in off-peak hours, not a 2 days after within plumbers standard 8h working time.
Had my gas heating installed last week and found the guys to be very professional and respectful in my house. I will most defiantly recommend this company to friends and family!
Same as Trevor charged for work apparently completed charged close to 1k for the same issue to happen again at a cost of £900, after having the boiler thoroughly checked we've been informed that not only could we have had the whole boiler replaced for roughly £800 but the parts they claimed to replace weren't! if like me you use a letting agent to look after your property I'd strongly advise you to decline the recommendation of safegas.
Con-men, they tried to sell me 2 new boilers in 2 years and 4 times did not complete work correctly, so badly the one year old boiler was condemned by worstersher. Told me I need a new boiler, after I had got one of them the year before. (they’d no record that I’d got the previous one year before until I showed them warranty and receipt) boiler was under warranty and boiler company came out and condemned the boiler said it was never fitted correctly. safe gas was ask to correct there mistake. Warranty company came back and boiler still was not fitted correctly. Gas safe told to get it sorted. In the end warranty company completed the work themselves. Do not use
I used Safe Gas to provide the gas connection for a replacement gas hob that was to be installed by a different company. It went very well, cost was as quoted and installed on time. I was very satisfied.
