We work with G A Plumbing a lot and they're always helpful and reasonably priced.
Having recently written a 5Star Review I didn’t think I would be writing another so quickly! My 44 year old boiler failed just before Christmas.. My children, son in law and young grandchildren were all due to spend the holiday with me – but couldn’t if I had no heating. The house was so cold. Gary and Jason rearranged their work schedule to get and fit a new boiler and Jason worked on his Saturday off to help make this possible. Watching them work made me realise just what specialists they both are in their field. How fortunate I have been to find a company so professional, so experienced, so helpful and so reliable. I’ve taken out an extended warranty with “Glow-Worm” because I am reassured that GA and Gary will do the annual servicing required. They saved my Christmas – if I could give more than a 5 star rating I definitely would. No one with a plumbing or heating problem could find anyone better than GA Plumbing and Heating!
Professional through and through. Great response to enquiry, fitted us in quickly, work was done to very high standard. All in would strongly recommend them.
Prompt & professional - highly recommend.
Seemed OK, but terrible after-care. They did a few small jobs, including replacing the stop cock. They recommended a device called SureStop, which they supplied for £100. I later discovered this is available retail for around £40. A few months later I had to turn the water off, and it would not turn on again. GA plumbing refused to come out unless I paid again, and refused to acknowledge their obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Gary had some bizarre argument that, because he had not personally manufactured the device, he was not responsible for it! This is not what the Consumer Rights Act says! When I spoke to Gary on the phone, he kept stating that the problem was likely to be the water meter and this would have sent debris to the SureStop. The water company came out to check. There was no debris of any sort, but there is a 'reset' button which Gary did not seem to understand. In the end the water company resolved my problem, but Gary is trading as a supplier and fitter of plumbing equipment, so he needs to learn about his legal obligations. Only use this company if you are sure nothing will go wrong, as he will not come out if materials he has supplied fail. Also, his website claims that he takes various forms of payment including credit and debit cards. In practice, he demanded payment by cheque. It really is time people like this were properly licensed to trade, to ensure they understand and comply with consumer legislation. EDIT: 15 June 2018. Your reply is nonsense. I did not 'threaten' you, just informed you of your legal obligation when you both supply and fit materials. You are responsible, not the manufacturer as you argued. Legally, if something you fitted goes wrong you are obliged to fix it, otherwise I can hire another trader and pursue you for the cost of this. Why don't you understand this? Check your obligations under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Clearly you don't understand your obligations as a trader. As I advised you at the time I had already checked with neighbours and their water supply was OK. You seemed fixated on the idea that it must be debris, therefore not your problem. It was not debris. You had not at any time advised me there were two switches, and when I called you back to tell you the water company had found the second one you were surprised. Your point about me asking to pay by cheque is bizarre. I very rarely use cheques and certainly I did not request this. I preferred to use a card and you wanted a cheque. You failed to provide any invoice or receipt for this. I am warning other consumers, as you were quite happy to leave me without any water supply, and wanted me to agree to pay you again before you would come back and look at it. I do hope that you speak to solicitor about this, as perhaps they will explain your legal obligations to you. You are responsible to customers for any materials you supply. Your argument that you are not responsible because you did not manufacture it is just plain wrong, and shows you don't understand the Consumer Rights Act.
