DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They carried out some work for me in Sept 2017, didn’t send a bill until end of Jan 2018 which I didn’t receive because A, I’d left the country and B, they got my name wrong so post wasn’t forwarded. They didn’t email me, didn’t phone me but they did issue a court summons! They also did poor work I had to get someone else to rectify and they charge premium fees. I’m now having to go through the courts to pay a bill I would have paid if they’d just called. What a waste of time.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I have just received an invoice for work carried out 6 months ago in April 2018 (incomplete job and poor workmanship) for £400. I had a new mortise lock fitted to the front garden gate, a couple of internal locks and a cupboard door realigned. The work took 3 hours 20minutes in total. None of the locks fitted work properly and we had to call the carpenter back once... They still don't work properly, and despite him saying he would return to finish the job, he didn't. When asking for a quote, he was very vague. The best we could get out of him was that he charged £30 per hour and the mortise lock was £50..... I was shocked to say the least on receipt of the bill. I have just called the company to query the invoice and been met with their extremely rude, arrogant and obnoxious accounts guy, Edwin. I was so shocked by the way he communicated with me I had to hang up in the end. We have had problems with invoicing, quotes and communications with this company previously but had hoped it was a one off..... I am worried about how we will resolve this issue as Edwin seems incapable of holding a decent conversation... Approach with caution!

Needed an electrician to fix ceiling lighting. Electrician came next day spent several hours without being able to find the problem and kept turning to me for some kind of guidance to find the problem. Without any success he left. Next day I called another electrician who came round found the problem and fixed it within an hour. Cost £80 for job done. Few months later I receive a bill from mogfords for £122. I wrote a letter explaining a call out charge would be acceptable but I was not happy with the bill. I never received a reply, month later I emailed the office, no reply. Just another invoice for £122. Ended up paying the bill. I would always use local tradesmen if I can. An incompetent electrician and zero customer service equals one less customer.

BEWARE!!!! Contacted Mogford Prescott back in December because I needed a thermostatic valve replacing in the shower. The Plumber spent less than 10 minutes looking at the shower (I had already removed the taps at this point, so no tools were required on his behalf), establishing that it needed replacing (I had already informed Mogford Prescott of this during my initial telephone call). He then left the house, leaving behind his customer contact sheet for the day (containing addresses of all his customer for that day). Since then I have had no follow up call from Mogford Prescott, however, I have today (nearly 6 months later) received an invoice for £50.16 call out charge - outrageous. Will most definitely not be using again!
