O.A. Roberts is a longstanding company, family owned, and specializing in septic and sewer services for commercial and residential. We have used the company to pump our house septic system over the past seven years, and the former owner of our home used them for many years as well, including certifying the system. We have always been extremely satisfied with their service, until now. Something has happened recently that has completely degraded their ability to provide reasonable customer service. There seems to be a disconnect between the office staff (very nice people) and their service team. About a month ago we requested service (pumping), and had several no-shows in a row. They lost the diagrams showing the risers locations. After numerous delays, they finally completed service. I was hesitant, but I re-contacted the company to provide a certification on our system as we are selling the home. Multiple calls to the wonderful and friendly office staff, who seemed completely unable to get the owners attention with our questions. Never any callbacks, except once. I had to initiate repeated calls to the office staff throughout this process. This week, we had an appointment scheduled for the certification at $1000 (I just found that other companies offer this service at $650). I assumed that they had completed the appointment, but now it is apparent they no-showed once again. The day before when I called to confirm, the office folks mentioned the owner wasn't feeling well, but other personnel could do the work. Then ... radio silence. Another no show and no communication by email or phone. I'm so sorry a once excellent company seems to be in trouble for some reason. Sometimes, an epic fail by contractors means they have so much business they can't keep up. Or perhaps there has been some change in personnel or the owner is facing personal problems. I really can't diagnose the issue, but something bad seems to be happening at O.A. Roberts. I hope this once excellent small business can turn it around.
