Was able to come quickly and did the job that was needed. Could not quote when phoned as I was providing the part that needed replacement. The replacement part was fitted in less than 30 minutes BUT the cost was ridiculously high at £180.00. Feel a bit ripped off...... So if you are thinking of using him insist on a fixed price before he starts anything.

Please note the following testimonial is presented without prejudice : At approximately 16:00 on a Saturday I was given occasion to contact Cumbrian Emergency Plumbers / Keswick Emergency Plumbers , the need for this call being a cistern that was running constantly. Under normal circumstances I would not have classed this as an emergency however the fact that it is the only WC in the property coupled with the fact that I was expecting a visitor from Brazil and further exacerbated by a metered water supply decreed that a plumber was required. Sadly nobody was available to take my call therefore a message was duly left outlining the problem. Within about 30 minutes my call was responded to by a lady , later as identified as Daniels partner , who advised that she had noticed a missed call. A conversation ensued during which details of the problem were given and I was advised that the plumber ( Daniel ) would attend site within an hour. Daniel duly arrived within approximately 90 minutes ( my property is approximately 10 minutes walk from where the company is based ). Whilst waiting for the plumber I identified the problem as being a perished washer on the fill valve. I isolated the water supply and emptied the cistern in preparation. When the plumber arrived I was asked to read a “contract” and sign a carbon copy to agree to the terms outlined in the document ; £60:00 call-out charge , £60:00 per 30 minutes labour charge plus parts. This I did and only then did the plumber ask to view the problem ( this particular task took some 5 minutes to complete ). The plumber was shown the cistern and duly turned on the water supply to confirm my diagnosis , he confirmed that I was correct and suggested renewal of the faulty valve which I believe was the correct option. Sadly this meant the cistern had to drained of the small amount of water prior to commencing work ( this particular task took some 5 minutes to complete using plastic cups provided by myself ). The plumber then advised that due to the siting of the cistern the plastic nut holding the valve was difficult to get to with the tools at his disposal however he did manage to overcome the challenge and a new valve was fitted. The cistern was checked and found to be functioning as it should be. Unfortunately the circumstances meant that the job had taken the plumber 10 minutes into the next 30 minute labour charge ( please see earlier comments vis-à-vis time spent ). This meant the final bill came to a grand total of £200:00 which was payable immediately. To sum up : Daniel Holden t/a Cumbrian Emergency Plumbers / Keswick Emergency Plumbers provided an emergency plumbing service albeit within a timescale slightly outside that which I had expected and at a cost far in excess of that which I had expected however in fairness if the company is operating a 24/7 – 365 day service a premium is only fair ( it may be that an indication of costs should be provided during the course of an initial telephone conversation ). On this basis I would use the company in a true emergency as I am now prepared for the cost involved in doing so.
