Excellent service provided. We had no hesitation in using R Toomes & Son due to them carrying out works for friends and family members in the past. We required a complete replacement heating/water system which involved the removal of an old back boiler and pipe work including the first stages of a bathroom installation. This work was carried out during a time the house was empty so installation was a bit easier thanks to carpets and floorboards already up in places. The 4 man team were extremely polite and professional. I have no hesitation in recommending them to others for similar work.
We have just had a new heating system (combo boiler & Radiators) install in our home, the work was completed while we were on holiday, Our house was left spotless the workmanship was done to a high standard, and the member of Toomes work force were all very polite and professional, A big thank you to all from R Toomes & Son for there hard work, Kind regards Chris Pattinson
Working with this company has been an expensive and traumatic ordeal. I booked them for a boiler service, a couple of hours after this, the boiler began to malfunction. We lost hot water, and heating in the middle of winter. The next morning, I called their 'emergency' line, and after an hour or so I got a call back. Another hour or two later Scott the engineer returned, and mistakenly diagnosed the fault as a problem with the condenser pipe. After this visit the boiler began to leak, and in a couple of hours was malfunctioning again, leaving us without heating or hot water for the second night in the row. Rather upset, I had to call them out again on Sunday. The, now rather grumpy, Scott returned again and insisted it was the same problem with the condenser pipe. I received a very aggressive call after this from James. James insisted that this problem was not their responsibility, and that I would be charged for this. To give them their due, the boiler lasted almost four days after this visit before it cut out again. A third night without heating. I called out a different company to fix it this time and they quickly resolved the problem, and diagnosed the issues. During the intial service the engineers from R Toomes had damaged the wiring harness, some wires were loose. At their second visit they had also damaged the inlet valve, which was causing the leaking. I considered contesting the bill of £241, but James was so aggressive that I was concerned about upsetting someone with my home address.
