They pay for accreditation from Which trader to look like they earned it. They pay £12,000 a year for it so it not worth the page it is written on and mislead that they are 5* when all other reviews have them at 2.5*. Which Trader admitted to me, in writing, that they remove all negative feed back as Colin Laver pay to NOT be criticism so be aware that self praise is no recommendation and paid for accreditation is like a fake degree bought on the Internet - not to be trusted. My issues with them: They failed to supply a copy of a document that they never sent me/made then 5 months later they created one and an envelope front that they scanned in trying to pass it off as one from 5 months earlier - do you want to use a company that creates paperwork to back up what never took place? Then these are for you. These are NOT 5* and only paying for that rating can ever achieve it for them and as for their own web site's rating - well they are hardly going to post negative testimonials on their own site so take it as more self publicity is no recommendation.. Honesty is not their best policy!

Lied about having sent an appointment. Called me a liar to the council. They have failed to supply ANY records that shows they made appointment and they had no copy of the alleged letter. They are being subject to a protest outside there - to which I will not be moving until they stop lying and tell the truth. Vile company. Ow and they also failed to change the smoke alarms in my home for 3 inspections. Ist failure - the alarms had only a few months left to expire (so should have been changed) Second one ( a year later) they were already out of date but they again passed them. By the time the council were alerted (by non Laver inspection following my refusal to have them in my home)) they had been out of date for over 18 months. They signed paperwork to say that they have passed the safety checks - even though they had expired. My council had to get their own electrician to fit new ones! Seriously avoid this company - I can't emphasise enough how bad they are.

Had my wood burner and surround put in less than two years ago had to call them out within a day because the finish was terrible and very slap dash. Back brick on fire collapsed and was told 11 days before a service call all the details were given as they installed the fire and the engineer turned up empty handed and said he wasn’t given the parts to fix the fire. Ridiculous now waiting another 2 weeks for part and service person to come out and won’t be paying for the first call out since he did nothing!!!

Colin Laver have been outstanding on my log burner install. I was initially a bit cautious about approaching them as they're relatively big players locally (which I equated with expensive). I'm very glad I did. This job was an absolute nightmare for the engineers i'm sure - no easy dropping a flue liner down a chimney here. A point was reached where i'm sure other companies or one man bands would have bailed out and given up but they went above and beyond to get it installed. Great communication, great engineers, clean and tidy, couldn't ask for more. Very pleased.
