Overcharged my elderly father by around £500 to £600. Alpha Plumbing charged my father £1241.74 to supply and fit a new toilet and wash basin, and to change an old radiator to a towel rail. He was charged over £600 for the units and parts and £640 for 20 hours of time. I have the receipt and I think it speaks for itself: Pedestal Set - £43.20 Basin - £74 Towel Rail - £190 Pan - £62.06 Cistern £87.83 Seat - 29.54 The best part of £200 for the WC alone! Considering that full bathroom suites can be bought for less than £200 I think this is extortionate. Similar towel rails to the one installed seem to cost £60 - £80 from my research, not £190! In my view the time being charged is also excessive. Looking at quote checkers for the individual jobs this is almost twice the usual rates. I recently found out my father also paid £690 to Alpha Plumbing for one additional radiator to be fitted last year. Looking at the average cost for this type of job, this should have come in at around £200 - £300 in total.
