To the person complaining about their water heater, it is not standard practice to install a whole house pressure regulator when replacing a water heater. But I'm sure they offered you that option and clearly you passed on it. Penny wise, dollar foolish. Don't take out your disappointment in your decisions on these guys.
Paid $800 to have my hot water tank replaced 2 years ago. The tank they installed is leaking. I called them and they tried to charge me $39 to come and confirm that it was leaking. I refused. They ended up coming for free and confirmed that it was leaking (!!). I was told that the tank was under warranty and I would only pay for labour. It costed me another $500 to have it replaced. They argued that I was "lucky" to get the new tank for free, because there was no pressure regulator installed. The reason why there was no pressure regulator installed is because they failed to install one in the first place. Total cost of my tank replacement: nearly $1400. Will not do business with them again, they do not take responsibility for their mistakes and they don't offer customer service. The only + was that the plumber doing the job was friendly.
