During this year's water and sewer freeze up (6 days without service), I needed the water line "Gate" valve where the water line comes into the house changed to a "Ball" valve so that the City could thaw out my water line. Normally, the water shut-off located at the curb or property line is turned off before the plumber does the switch over. The City came, but could not budge the curb-side shut off because it was frozen... the whole reason for wanting a "Ball" valve in the first place. Other plumbers could not put the cart before the horse and would not do the job until the curb shut-off, which continued to be frozen, was closed. As the City Superviser said to me: "Given that the shut-off is frozen solid, there is no need to worry about water going through the line. Just get a plumber to change the Gate to a Ball valve." Seems simple enough. When other plumbers would not do the job, Harry saw what it would take to "Git'er Done" and sent Mark (13 year Journeyman) to switch out the valves. The line was quite frozen and there was no problem or need to close the curb shut-off. Without a Ball Valve, the City would not have been able to open the water line and who knows how long it would have taken before the curb shut off would have thawed out. Just a little common sense earns Price-Rite 5 stars and my future business.

I’m not sure how I ended up with 1 star service. It all started out alright. Had a Moen leaky rain shower head that needed repaired. 2hrs of driving to get the cartridge (I’m assuming that because this was an older model they didn’t carry it in the “van”. I lent the plumber Marc a socket wrench as he didn’t have one. 3 hrs later the rain shower head was repaired but the handheld was broken. Harry told me that he could order a new one but it would be cheaper if I ordered it online myself but they’d install it. Not for free, I’m almost sure. Something happened between the handheld working before his plumber got there and after. And instead of offering to help (which would admit guilt), he’d rather just charge me money for a service I won’t need because the part is free and any layman can do it. Neat.

Mark came to look at my problem of leaking water from bathtub, and without going with amateur advice, found a solution that saved me lot of hassle and money. He was quick to complete the work, and was fun to chat with.

Price-Rite plumbing is timely, clean and polite. They told me right away what was and wasn't wrong. I don't know anything about how a house is put together, so I appreciated greatly the honesty and quick help. They made it easy and were very flexible with me. Would absolutely hire again! Thank you Harry.
