Service Contractors Plumbing has fixed or replaced various things in my house ranging from leaky kitchen and bathroom sink faucets, hot water heater, clogged pipes, etc. Most visits and service technicians proved them to be among the most professional and competent plumbers we’ve encountered in the area, but I recently had two extremely disappointing service experiences that showed me who this is company really is - an extremely dishonest business that is indifferent to customer satisfaction, and completely unwilling to make the customer whole for mistakes they fully admit to making. In the January/February timeframe, they replaced a leaky bathroom sink faucet with a non-standard faucet not covered by my home warranty company (and they took over three weeks to schedule the install, always requiring phone call reminders from me to purchase the part and schedule the install). Fast forward 2-to-3 months later to May, when the faucet at the opposite end of that double-sink started leaking, they decided to inform me (by their own admission) of the decision they made back in Jan/Feb without consulting me, and refused to give me the same faucet as the one they had installed just three months ago. I never once authorized them to give me a non-standard faucet and they never once consulted with me on their decision to do so. I ended up having to pay another $100 out of my pocket to avoid having a double-sink in my master bath with two different faucet styles/colors. To make matters worse, the phone dispatchers and serviceman were extremely rude and indifferent to my plight - at one point the serviceman (Ryan) hung up on the phone when I requested he or his company call the home warranty company to explain the mistake they made in choosing a non-standard faucet. Most of all - they proved to be extremely dishonest - they tried to charge me $150 for the second faucet which I was able to get brand new on Amazon for $100. And when I told them I would provide the faucet, they said they would still charge me $125 for the install if I wanted a warranty with the install - which made absolutely no sense - because my home warranty company was already paying them for the install. Rubbing salt into the wounds - the most HORRIBLE and CROOKED customer service I have seen in a long time. In the end, I told them to skip the warranty and come install the faucet that I paid $100 for to cover their mistake and horrible customer service.
Really great company and people. Went through American Home Shield and was so pleased with the service we received. Excellent work done in a timely manner - very honest company! We’ve sent several people their way.
DON’T BE FOOLED BY POSITIVE REVIEWS! My story is just like others ... American Home Shield contracted them to clear a clogged toilet that was backing up into my shower. Cody, technician who claimed 20 yrs of experience, determined roots in the main line and 20 ft of cast iron from my house to the street had to be replaced for $7800. After a little research that price seemed too high so I called other plumbers and they all agreed. One said to call the city (311) and they arrived in an hour, used a snake with a camera, checked the pipes from clear out in my yard to the street and back to my house, as I watched, and there were NO ROOTS, no cracks, no nothing! Cody determined roots without a camera (impossible), and didn't even try to clear the clog through my shower. No water in front yard, no issues with the plumbing in the rest of the house... all signs that he was wrong. I called Cody, his answer was well I must've cleared the roots with the pressure. NO, It was still clogged! I spoke to office manager, McKayla, who was obviously used to receiving these type of calls because her response was similar. She lacked basic customer service skills and had zero professionalism. The next day it was fixed for $150. READ ALL REVIEWS... my guess is the positive ones are paid for.
I am happy for everyone who've got perfect job from this company, unfortunately it was not me. Two guys came into my house yesterday and said this is not easy job and was trying to explain to me that they do not have access to the pipe and I need the first to disassembling my floor in bathroom to give them access to this pipe, after that they left my house to do nothing, even didn't change faucet in the same bathroom..... AHS successfully charge my account for their fee and I had to find another plumbers who did this job perfectly without disassembling my floor ! So upset with this service.
I made a claim through American Home Shield and Service Contractors Plumbing came out to fix my washer hookups. They fixed the washer hookups but in doing so they damaged the plastic housing (see the picture). The big red flag was that they left without telling me this -- I had to run out to their truck as they were driving away. When I asked them about it they told me that American Home Shield would call me to schedule a repair. I don't want to hold Service Contractors Plumbing accountable for the issues at AHS, which are many, but I will say that as I have tried to get this resolved AHS keeps telling me that Service Contractors Plumbing has said that they are not responsible for the damage, hence the 1-star review. They absolutely caused this damage, and then tried to leave without telling me about it, and it's still there.
