Had a problem with the bathroom toilets backing up. Several other plumbers came out and couldn't figure out what was going on, called servestar and they took care of the problem instantly. Will most definitely call them again.

I recently had American Plumbing come to my loft in downtown Nashville to replace a faucet in my bathroom. When I phoned, I asked how much the service would cost. I was told that they would have to come to my residence, and give me an estimate. When the two plumbers came to my loft, I was told that it would cost $345 dollars. I had received a $20 discount card in the mail. It took exactly one hour and twenty minutes to replace the faucet. If my calculations are correct, that would come to $287.50 per hour. They informed me that "was the going rate." They also advised that according to their company, that was a flat rate. I asked why I was not informed of that when I phoned, their response was..they did not know. If it was a flat rate, then I should have been devised up front. I have sense that time asked around, and found that this was ridiculous, and no one would have charged such a rate for such a simple job. I can assure this company I will NEVER use them again, and will most definitely advise everyone I know to never use this company. So, to anyone even thinking about using American Plumbing, DO NOT!! And, if you do..get at least three additional estimates! I am a single female, and feel totally taken advantage of!!!!!!

I called American Plumbing to check out my clog in the line. They dug up a hole in my yard which is illegal. I went to Murfreesboro and checked with the state. I was then informed that digging wasn't allowed until they inspected it. American plumbing broke the law. They also said I needed a new septic system and they left 6ft hole in my yard. The state inspected it and another septic tank company inspected it and all I need is the tank pumped. This is after the $1800 I was charged for the illegal activities they committed.

I called American Plumbing a couple years ago when my septic pump quit working. After paying just shy of $2000, they replaced my junction box with a jb plugger model mounted to the outside of the concrete lid to my pump tank, pumped the tank twice, and replaced a ground wire. Although I wasn't happy with the price I was just glad we could use the bathroom again. I was told I had a 1 year warranty on labor and a 5 year warranty on the box Then a few weeks before Christmas the tank quit pumping again. Since I had used them before I called American plumbing again. They told me that water had got inside the plugger box and that it needed to be replaced. I asked why that would be since it was suppose to be an waterproof box and they said it was install incorrectly or the box was defective. At that point I showed them my previous receipt and asked if the would fix it for free since I had already paid for it. The guy who came out was very friendly but said that they wouldn't cover any of it and I would have to pay again. I attempted to negotiate I even called jb plugger (the junction box company) verified the warranty on the box and tried to get them replace it but they said it would have to go through American Plumbing since that's who I bought the box from. American Plumbing would not budge. They wanted me to pay close to $600 for the box and installation ( same cost as before only looks cheaper because they did not have to pump or do anything with the ground this time). Refusing to use them again I called Butch's Electric and Plumbing who agreed to do it for $100 and I had to buy the box. When Butch removed the old box he showed me where the JB Plugger box had a place the wire when through and that was seal by a gasket washer and a nut. American Plumbing did not use the gasket washer and nut but instead just use some silicon gel to seal the wires. This work for a while until years of the water rising and lowering popped that silcone gel piece out of the hold and allowed water into the box. I had contemplated taking them to small claims court because I feel I had the evidence to prove that they should at least pay for the box, but I came to the conclusion that the court would probably only rule for the cost of the repair which using Butch was only around $150 and I would like have lost more than that with time off work. I write this review to warn others about American Plumbing. If you call them they will likely fix your problem but you will overpay, won't receive quality work, and they will not honor their warranties.
