I was quoted $63 to come out an look at a hot water heater. When the tech arrived he said it would be closer to $200 to just look at the hot water heater. I informed him I was told $63 and he said that’s just to come to your house. I called to confirm with the office and the receptionist agreed. I asked her why I was told one price and he gave me another. She stated the $63 is to come out then the tech gives the price to look at the hot water heater. I informed her this was misleading but she just repeated it was correct. After waiting for 3 days without hot water and now being $200 in just to look, I was then socked with a total price of over $500 for a $40 part and 20 min of work. They are very nice but very misleading and ridiculously priced. The hot water is working.

I thought the technician did an awesome job installing a hot water heater. He removed the old one and communicated what he was doing during the process. No issues.

They are quick to schedule an appointment, show up when they are supposed to, and no surprises when doing their work. The tech was professional and courteous. We will definitely continue to use Blitch for all our plumbing needs.

I met with their salesman to discuss installing a tankless hot water heater at my home. As an engineer, I asked a lot of very technical, in depth questions regarding how the cold water and hot water pipes would be run to decide on whether to install a recirculating pump or not. Also, I need to draw out schematics to decide what pipes would best go where in order to suit my specific needs on how I wish my hot water to get to my bathtub in one path, vs kitchen sink in another path, or a loop with a recirc pump. I am not one to say “just go install it”, because I have a sneaky feeling the shortest, quickest path to being done is not always the best way to get it done, and I intend on ensuring my house is done right, but more importantly, I need to understand what is what. The salesman seemed to be increasingly more and more perturbed as I was asking my questions, which I first attributed to him not being a technical person and not knowing how to answer. I would come to realize he is trying to not give out any information because he doesn’t wish for me to take this info and do it myself. Aka, let me know as little as possible. Be as vague as possible, and when taking about the quote, I asked for him to break things out so I could determine what costs what so if I would like to eliminate / change something to fit my budget, I can do so... Anyways, this is where I decided to write this review... About halfway through me asking my list of 50+ questions, as I am asking him how the recirc valves work, and where the flow pushes from / to, he kind of just dropped his pen on the countertop and said “look man, are we going to do ANY of this for you, or are you just going to end up doing it yourself”. I was taken back, but didn’t respond, even though I was kind of done at that instant. I told him I do want to have a profession plumber install this for me because if stuff leaks, I want a warranty; but I want to lay out exactly how I want my stuff done before I sign on to get this tankless installed. We continue forward, through the end of our quote getting experience, but when he goes to leave, I tell him I did not appreciate the way he spoke to me. I understand that some people use the technicians quotes as a means to figure out how to do a project themselves, but being frustrated and outbursting at a potential customer makes them not want to be a customer. Note: I am putting # signs in here on purpose regarding their pricing as it is rude to advertise their costs, and I am not rude. At the beginning of our conversation, I am told “a traditional tankless runs around $#,### to install” so I figure all of the standard gas connections, hot and cold pipes, and electrical box are included in that price. We discuss one add-on feature of running a new hot water line to my sink from WH that he says is about a $300-$500 thing (way overpriced IMO, but whatever, I am getting a quote). A few days later I get my quote and it is $1,500 more than the standard $#,#### price. Where is the extra $1,000 coming from? Lastly, I requested everything broken out into a line item quote. I was told “we give one number for the whole job”. Which they did. But I want to know if I ask for 3 add-ons, like running a new gas line 20 feet to my laundry room for a dryer connection... is that $100, $500, $1000? Please let me know so I can decide to say yes or no to that specific add-on. Would not do it, one price. Very smoke and mirrors like a used car purchase. Which is probably where the extra $1,000 went. All that being said, I did not respond to their quote, had another company give me a fantastic quote at approx 20-25% less than the quote from Blitch, and they just finished installation over the weekend, and have been very very happy with my new tankless that was installed by another reputable company, with several additional items also included.
