I had a very unpleasant experience with the plumber who came out. This company was chosen by my home warranty policy, I would have never chosen them. Mike practically barged in my home (not using appropriate personal space), didn't listen to my experience with my appliance problem, and failed to remove his gloves after touching dirty surfaces before opening doors. He stayed all of 3 minutes and then walked out the door as I was asking a question.
One star is generous for my experience with this company. The plumber was rude and condescending. I would have rather used a different company but my home warranty company only allowed this one so I figured there was no harm in trying. Well I wish I wouldn't have used the home warranty plumber because I felt it was a waste of my time and service fee money. I tried to ask for recommendations for what he said was the issue (that apparently was not covered) and he just said that it would be a lot of money and there is no way I could afford it. I asked for a ballpark estimate and he just left. I was honestly shocked at lack of professionalism.
My home warranty company called these clowns out because I wanted a second opinion. They showed up an hour early but then sat in my driveway talking on their phones for 30 minutes. I do that sometimes too, work when I show up to an appointment early - but I park down the street so I don't bug my clients. When Joel made it to the door, he rang the bell and immediately followed that with a cop-knock. I answered and told him to pick one, both weren't necessary especially as they'd been if my driveway for half an hour. He then went to the bathroom where the sink wasn't draining. He brought in a flashlight and a hair-removal plastic tool, literally nothing else. He was in the bathroom for less than 5 minutes. He then - without a word - went back out to the van. He and his driver (don't ask me) sat in the driveway another 20 minutes, and at 11 am - the scheduled appointment time - they fired it up and drove away - still without a word. When I called their dispatch I was told Joel felt "unsafe" because we had closed the screen door he left wide open (so we could leave the main door open so he could get back in without having to knock again - which he would have seen, had he gotten out of the van). I am not paying for this "service" call, and as a Realtor I'll certainly not be recommending them for any work, and if they get called in on anything I'll veto them.
Had them do a repair job a year ago. Considering they educated me on a plumbing issue, I figured it would be noted somewhere. I knew this company back when all ratings would've been a 6... Not now apparently. I called last Sunday with their repair malfunctioning.. No problem, figured late or a "whenever we get to it Monday" appointment...nope, late Tuesday...no water or swim... Guy shows up not knowing I have modular plumbing. Don't get me wrong, the plumber patched the leak (no master bathroom toilet ????)... But as I write this, he's 24 hours with my plumbing and hasn't bothered giving me an update. Will update as this proceeds. ***UPDATE*** they are ordering a part (supposedly) and I will be without a toilet for a WEEK? Must order their parts from wish.
I wish I could give this establishment a zero star rating. My landlord sent them to have a look at my water heater last week, because it's been beeping incessantly. The beeping didn't stop after they did their work, so yesterday I called back to schedule another visit. It's always my policy to be polite with people when I'm asking for a service over the phone, or in person, and generally in all of my interactions. After politely explaining the situation to the owner, who answered the phone, he said that I could schedule an appointment with his dispatcher. He forgets to mute his phone, passes me off to his dispatcher and says "some lady bitching about her water heater." I cannot begin to explain the shock and hurt that I felt when this word was applied to me, for the simple fact that I was a woman asking for something. When confronted, they proceeded to first, lie to me, denying it was ever said even though I clearly heard it, and second, admit that it was said and justify it with "that's just how we talk around here." This company deserves to go out of business if it's their custom to degrade their female clients after hanging up the phone. It's 2018, and Happy's Plumbing needs to get it together and start respecting people.
