Don’t know if they were scamming me, or if it was merely incompetence, but either way, Solid Plumming performed with less than optimal satisfaction. I called for an estimate to have quite a bit of work done. The lady, Natalie I believe it was, told me they would give me a free estimate. I made sure I specified such before I approved them coming out. She said yes, the plumming estimate would be free. They showed up on the day scheduled for the estimate but were an hour late. When I detailed all that I wanted done they said it would take about 20 minutes to work up the quote. I was fine with that. Long story short, they attempted to charge me a $79 fee for the estimate. After a small interchange on the merits and ethical problems with charging someone to tell them what they will charge them, I told them I don’t charge for estimates mysef, and therefore do not pay for the,. This was done before they hade worked up the estimate. They called the office. The plummer spoke to Natalie (the one who told me the estimate would be free) on his phone, then after a moment, he put her on speaker phone so that I could hear her say, “that’s okay, I’ll just pay it out of my own money.” Really??? When I let them know that I was okay with that, they made a hasty retreat to their truck. As they were halfway to their truck, I called out to them and asked if we were done since I honestly didn’t know, given no word of apology for the confusion or an address as to the resolution of the matter. Hurrying across the yard he said back to me over his shoulder, “Yeah, were done.” What brought about the estimate fee confusion was this: Prior to him working up the quote for the extensive work I needed done, I had asked him to look at the water heater to see how much - aside from the other work - that would cost to fix. He bent down and fixed it right there (it took him less that five minutes as I simply had the lines reversed) and said he’d run that charge in with the estimate cost. Estimate cost?! Thus the snafu. I then told him to forget the estimate and asked what the charge would be for the water heater fix and he, again, tried to get a $79 payment from me touting his years of experience in the plumming field. Since I hadn’t asked him to fix it but rather merely give me an ideat of what it would cost to fix it, I told him I’d give him $20 for his trouble. Again, he had spent under 5 minutes reversing the lines and lighting the pilot. That’s when he made, I would say a rather terse and abrupt exit. As I said, I don’t know if it was premeditated dishonesty or company incompetence, but either way, in the future I won’t be having Solid Plumming doing any of my work for me. p.s. I hope Natalie doesn’s have to suffer too much of a financial burden in paying her plummers for my remunerative deficit. Joe Keck

Solid Plumbing was contracted through HomeServe to clear a clog in our toilet. I called HomeServe at 4:30 in the morning on Friday and they told me the plumber will call within 12 hours. By 430 in the afternoon, no call. Called Solid Plumbing and spoke to a lady I believe her name is Julie or Julian anyway she told they have to call us back cause they just printed off the paperwork from HomeServe. She said they would call tomorrow morning (Saturday) to schedule an appointment. No phone call and it's now 11:20 pm on Saturday. Guess we have to go to Stripes from now on to use the bathroom while waiting for a phone call. Called HomeServe back and they kept telling HomeServe a technician would call us. No phone call. Great service you guys have at Solid Plumbing! Maybe we will just dig a hole in the backyard.

This retired Soldier is warning you to stay away!!! We went thru Solid Plumbing using American Home Shield this past September and October ... Had heat pump (outside) and the coils in attic was replaced, hasn’t worked right since (heat nor ac), plus my ceiling was damaged because they had the drainage ports in the air exchanger was installed backwards (learned that from plumber they sent over for HVAC issues, but confirmed by Joe). Guess what though ... they still haven’t come to fix the ceiling damage, despite me calling Adri**ne and/or Nic**le several times; this before and after they told me the guy fixing my HVAC will fix my ceiling, but since I wasn't going for that, they sent over a professional company … Called a week later, but haven't heard from Solid Plumbing since. I will say this, just visit the office area on Sheridan Road and tell me how professional it is?!. You won't get any more patient that me and my family, but some companies are just foundationally wrong. Find someone else, because my experience was and is terrible!!!
