We had a really good experience with John and Total Restoration. We had all our rooms on the second floor painted and our mantle stained, at a very fair price. They cleaned up after themselves and came back to touch-up some spots that needed an extra coat (the rooms were outrageously bright colours that were hard to cover).

Purchased a home in which John was supposed to do some roof repair (replace one shingle for $350.00) around April 17. Spoke to John on April 16 and he said he would have it done on the 17th. Over a month went by and we could not reach John. We attempted to send several emails and voicemails and he never contacted us back once. Eventually John was contacted by the sellers realtor and the work got done around the first week of June. I understand people are busy but would have appreciated some communication from John.

Horrible service. They were painting furniture that was promised to be finished within 2 weeks. 3 months and the job was finally finished. They never responded to calls or texts. I filed a police report, it was that bad. They need to communicate with their customers. Horrible service , I should have read the reviews, far more negative comments and I never would have hired them.

Unprofessional and pulled a "bait and switch". Found them through Angie's list and made an appointment, received several email and text confirmations for FREE consultation/estimate. Morning of the appointment, was called and told they would need a $100 to come out! I told the receptionist that wasn't right, and she said she would call John Moore. At 11 a.m. received a text confirmation of appointment at noon. At 12:45 p.m. I called to ask where he was and was told "oh, he's not coming." Very angry that they misrepresented themselves and wasted my time. Mr. Moore missed out on a total roof replacement job on my house and barn as well as the exterior house paint job I am planning this summer.

I had a through-the-wall A/C and it was ancient- still worked, but ancient. I purchased a new one, same size, as well as a sleeve, since the old one did not have one. I'm fairly handy, and could not get the old one out of the wall, it was not as easy as it looked in the YouTube videos. I reached out to home advisor and only received one response inquiring about my project, and never received a reply. I reached out to a handyman listed high on the results list on google, and received no response whatsoever via e-mail or phone. I was so incredibly frustrated- until the BBB had Total Restoration listed for a contractor search in the 44256 area. John M. answered the first time I called, came out very quickly to perform the estimate, and completed the job in a very timely manner. There were a couple unforeseen stumbling blocks when it came to installing the sleeve, and I expected him to say it would have to be done at a later date (which I would have been fine with), but he persevered and got the entire job done (including replacing the siding and j-channel just like the hole in the wall was already the size it needed to be) in one appointment. Such a weight was lifted off my shoulders, and I know every penny was worth it. It's no longer unbearable in the upstairs bedroom, and his professionalism is 5-star. I absolutely recommend, and would use him again for future projects.
