As Scott stated, Michael is very unprofessional and the quality of his work is unknown because I could never actually get him to show up to do work in exchange for money. I don't know why he wants to waste his time coming around to do estimates when he never follows up with the work to get paid. He calls a lot and makes a lot of excuses, but they don't mean much without any follow through.

I am a real estate broker in Ithaca. I had no experience with Michael's services, and therefore could not recommend him.But two of my clients sought his help, for a large range of services, and were thoroughly pleased with his work. I now recommend him enthusiastically.

I called and made an appointment for someone to come look at my bathtub spout, as it was leaking into our basement apartment when the shower was used. A fellow who said he was the owner said it would probably be he who came to my house, although it might be an employee. The day and time came for the appointment, and after waiting about 20 minutes, I called just to confirm that he hadn't forgotten. The same fellow answered the phone, and when asked if he was on his way, told me that he was very sorry, but that he was still at another job. He said he wouldn't be able to get to me until a time 2-3 hours later than originally scheduled. I said that I understood that these things happen, and that I would see him when he got here. After waiting two hours or so, I called back to check on his progress, and got his voicemail. I began to wonder if I was dealing with someone who was being responsible in how they were doing business, so I asked my partner to call him from his phone. To my surprise, my partner called me right back, and sure enough, he said the same individual identifying himself as the owner (Michael Taormino, I believe it is) had answered the phone right away, and upon being confronted, told my partner that he would call one of us shortly and let us know whether he, or his "foreman" would be by. We never heard back, so after awhile I called again myself, only to be put to voicemail again, on which I recorded a message to "The House Doctor", stating that I was glad I wasn't actually sick, because at the rate he was going, I might be dead by now... I would recommend you avoid this individual, and his business, like The Plague.
