Not helpful at all. First time when we used their service for emergency they charged us twice for a new piece of equipment on top of all the additional emergency service charges. Second time when called regarding boiler leakage the lady on the phone said that they don't have any emergency service appointments. Won't call again.
Bass Plumbing came out to my home in Glenville, NY. They are based in Albany, NY. They installed a loud and abonoxious Sump Pump. The installer didn’t bother to dig a trench to discharge the water outside my home. I had to do that. Plus the pump does not run correctly. I had to use fishing wire and sinkers to make the pump work right. I will never drop them another line. They dropped the ball and charged me $500 dollars for nothing. They know nothing outside of municipal water systems, beware. If you don’t live in they City they are no help. They never even called to see if everything went alright.
My experience was great except for one big technical problem. I found this company by searching the web. I also see their trucks all of the time so I figured they would be great. I had a problem with my sump pump not working. Now my home is new so before I contact the builder, I always contact a company, first, to make sure that the problem isn't due to neglect on my part. Bass Plumbing was able to come out the same day I called them. The gentleman was very kind and he made sure to take his booties off as he was coming in and out of the house. I really liked that a lot. He was there for about 30-40 minutes and finally came back upstairs to say I was all set. I said "Great! What was the problem?" He said he didn't know but replaced the sump pump. WAIT WHAT!!? I was dumbfounded. I never had any company just replace something without letting me know first and, especially without knowing the cost first. The sump pump was still under the builder's warranty. Again, I only called Bass Plumbing to diagnose the problem and repair it if it were something minor -- not to replace the entire unit. So when I asked what was the cost and he said $400+, I was even more floored that he didn't convey that to me before actually replacing it. So I paid for something that the builder would have taken care of. What if I didn't have the funds to pay for that? Then what? Other than that, I would absolutely contact them again because everything else was great -- hence the reason for three starts instead of one. I sure am learning a lot being a new homeowner. I have learned my lesson and will make sure to say, upfront, that I need to approve any work done that would be above and beyond the cost of any service call fees.
I am internally grateful to the best service that was provided during my time in need. I was extremely ill and house bound without kitchen plumbing. Despite the busy winter weather affecting the area, John arrived and provided a level of service that left me speechless! Their professionalism and kindness is what one would want when you need things done right!
Asked for a proposal for a radiant heating system in my house and the proposal never came after four follow-up calls. Not very professional.
