Melvin came to look at my house and talk with me about installing air conditioning. I told him I was thinking about a 5 ton for the upstairs and a 3 ton for the downstairs, but that he was the expert and could give me his opinion. My comment ignited his need to prove his masculinity and my stupidity. He was insulting and clearly wanted to prove I knew nothing and that HE would be telling me what I needed. Instead of getting to his job, he wanted me to explain how I came up with those numbers. Well: I’ve been dealing with houses and all their parts for longer than he’s been alive. I have done a lot of research. I have owned more houses with air conditioning than he has fingers on one hand And I just threw out a good starting point. But it’s not my job to school this guy on good customer service. I have no patience with young whipper snappers who feel the need to beat their chest and prove their “smarts” to a woman, so I escorted him out. Maybe this is a good company. But if their front man has to insult people in order to feel good about himself, I don’t trust the rest of them. Melvin should have either kept his mouth shut and done his job, or he should have had an intelligent conversation with me about how many BTUs and SEERS I need for a 3,000 sq. ft. house. But he felt it was more important to “put me in my place”. I called to ask them to send someone else. They had no one else. They lost my business and approximately $10,000 I would be paying to install air conditioning at my big house.

Had a minor plumbing issue at the house. Looked online and browsed all local contractors. Abel Plumbing and Heating kinda stood out, decided to take a chance.
