I know this company has a pretty good rating, but I feel that it is important to relay my story. I contacted Mr. Handyman to re-caulk my shower. I spoke with Courtney who set an appointment for 3pm, June 19, 2019. I received a call the day before confirming the appointment. I took the afternoon off from work to be present for work. As the time approached 4pm on the scheduled date with no handyman arrival, I called Courtney to inquire. She told me she would contact the handyman and get right back to me. An hour later, Courtney called back and said that the appointment needs to be rescheduled because the handyman ran late at another appointment. I told her that I took the time off from work to be present. It wasn't right that no one showed up. I asked for the work to be completed that night because I would be home. She told me, "no." I asked if she could do something with the initial quote if I rescheduled, out of a courtesy for my time, to compensate for me needing to take additional time off from work. After determining that she would not, I asked to be contacted by the owner who was identified as Ray. I was told that Ray would call me around noon of the next day. He never called. My points are, this business should be prepared if a handyman's appointment runs long to send another handyman to the next appointment. They should call the next appointment if they aren't going to show up on time. The nonchalant attitude about rescheduling when I took off from work for the appointment they scheduled is very bad business practice. Unfortunately, today's attitude from businesses is poor service for the most they can charge. I'd like to find a company who values hard work at an honest rate with great customer service.
TERRIBLE. They sent some guy named Joey to do work and he only partially did it. Shotty job on the garage, siding, never put the shingles on the roof or finished the backyard. Joey tells me I can do all this myself. Called the office and Nicole said they are going to send a rep out by the name of Dave. Next morning a Jonathan shows up, late and said he’s not going on the roof because it’s a safety concern. What! So he tells me to call the office and Courtney picks up demanding payment. For what?! I told her no until all the work done from yesterday is complete and that this is a waste of my time as I have a job as well. She’s going to tell me I’m not the only one with a job, proceeds to laugh about it, says she can take off something’s but needs to be paid or she’s going to pull the rep, zero out the balance and nothing is being done. I told her fine b*tch and hung up in her face. The rep was already packed to go. Don’t ever deal with this business. Not reliable, professional or safe.
I have had Mr. Handyman work for me both personally and professionally over the years. The technicians always show up on time as promised and perform the work in a professional manner. I would not hesitate to recommend there services. We love the doggy door they installed for us recently!
Mr. Handyman has helped many of my friends with repairs around their homes. I just keep hearing about their excellent work. They are reasonable, on time and stand behind their work. I highly recommend using Mr. Handyman for home repairs.
All around great workmanship. They've done a variety of things for me and will hopefully do a bunch more.
