We have used Lockmer since moving to Butte 5 years ago, and have always found the staff and employees (and Troy!) to be expert, professional, quick and informative. A month ago had Shawn out to the house and John was out as well to do some work for separate reasons, things went smoothly and they both went to the trouble of answering all of my questions as well, as usual.
If it was possible to give a negative star rating, I would. First of all, the lady on the phone quoted $86 an hour period, unless they had to use a specific machine, then it would be $250 an hour. She said that I would be charged from the time the guy left the shop which was fine. When the final bill was given, I was charged $86 an hour for one person plus $250 an hour for the machine plus $68 an hour for a second person. I was never quoted that I would pay for both people that came out at different rates nor that the $250 per hour was in addition to the other labor rate. I work in an industry where we charge per hour for work to be done. The rate is the rate no matter how many people work on the job. Also, they put some stuff down the drain in my tub that has completely discolored and burned the chrome on my tub. My house is brand new, only 4 months old and now I have to replace my tub to make it look new again, and pay someone over $1000 for the trouble. To say I am a little angry about the situation is an understatement. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy let alone people I know and like. Steer clear if you like your property and/or your pocket book.
These guys are truly the best! Hard working, prompt, polite, professional and fairly priced. I highly recommend using their services for any/all of your plumbing needs.
Lockmer Plumbing is a life saver. We have only been in our Anaconda Montana home for 3 months and last night our sewage started backing up in the bathroom creating a nightmare. I didn't know who to contact but found their company on Google. I called and left a message and the nice lady called me first thing today. She assured me my disaster would be taken care of. Lockmer had a crew out by the afternoon and was on top of things. I even received a few phone calls asking technical questions (if they needed to bring a steamer to thaw my sewage line since it was freezing outside) and be prepared to handle the issue correctly. The crew were so nice and explained that they discovered the obstruction was due to "wet wipes", from the previous owner, was found to clogging the system. Definitely a NO NO!!!! You never realize how much we depend on utilities till they're not available! I'm sorry about all the details but I had no idea who to contact and relying on reviews is a great help. Way to go Lockmer!!! ????????????
In response to your reply on my daughters review. In fact, I wrote that review after the 2nd or 3rd conversation with someone from your establishment. I didn't realize that I was on my daughter's log in although I'm sure she would feel the same. I am very satisfied with the end result of the situation. I still have the same complaints however. I was quoted "time and materials" as you state in your reply. The issue is that I was quoted $86 an hour for labor and $250 an hour while the machine was running. As I stated before, I was not told that the hourly rate would go up if a second person was needed. I work in an industry that charges an hourly rate as well. It is $115 an hour. That is not per person who works on your vehicle. Can you imagine how many customers would return if we charged them the hourly rate for every person who touched their vehicle? None, I can tell you for sure. While I appreciate that you credited the amount for the second service person, it should have never gotten to the point that I felt the need to post the review in the first place. If you quote someone an hourly rate, that is the rate. If you want to charge a secondary rate for each person who shows up at the location, that should be told to the customer up front. Also, I was happy that the tub drained, but it was not until your employees left and the tub was completely drained and cleaned out that we saw the damage to the drain. It is completely discolored where it was chrome before. If it was an old tub, I would be willing to deal with it, but my home is less than 4 months old. I was upset. Thank you for sending the part needed to fix it, but I am not a plumber or a contractor of any kind. I am a single old lady; that is why I hired someone else to come and fix my issue in the first place. I will have to hire someone else to install the part. I do not feel that the $340 that you adjusted for the 2nd person who came out was too much to ask. I paid you for 5 hours at $86 per hour which included 1.5 hours for drive time from Butte to Rader Creek, plus 1.5 hours to drive back, plus 1 hour at $250 for the machine to run and whatever the amount was for the "clobber" that ruined my tub drain. I still thought that was high, but would have never complained via a review here or even a phone call if that was what was charged in the first place. Also, to say that you took care of this of your own accord is a little out of line. At first I was told that a mistake was made and I was due a $164 credit. When I refused that, I was told that I would get a $290 credit. When I said that was unacceptable, I was told that it was a done deal and was asked where to send the check. It wasn't until I told the lady in the office not to send me a refund because I had put a stop payment on my check that the adjustment was made. While the end result was adequate, I don't think it should take this much to get you to honor what your office person tells people you are going to charge. Thank you for clearing my septic line and drain. I am very grateful for a working septic system and thankful that it didn't take days. Thank you for making right the amount of the bill and sending me the part to fix my tub back to it's new appearance. Please also return the first check since you cashed the replacement check already. I have attached a picture of the tub drain in question so you can see that it is, in fact, burned and discolored very badly. I have tried to clean it, but nothing will remove that black color. Sincerely, T. Robin Hunt
