I called and requested a non-emergency repair to a seeping joint in the ceiling of my basement. Joe looked at it and replied with a very reasonable price. I then led him to look at the 60 year old valve in my shower, which was difficult to stop leaking when done showering. He gave me the assessment, and again it was reasonable and he was very sure the repair didn't need to disturb the tiled wall much. I agreed to the price he told me. After the great freeze, he was able to get at my problems at the prices quoted. I was very happy and after having him set a toilet previously, and fix these two problems, I have no problem recommending Winowski plumbing. Very good rating!!

Called to schedule an appointment and the experience with that portion of the service was fine. I wasn't home but had someone at the house for me who was familiar with the issue. My primary issue was that my handle had broken but the root issue was that the flush valve that the handle pulls up to flush was old and really hard to pull. The toilet still worked fine but you had to pull the flush valve manually as the handle wasn't strong enough. Someone from Winowski came to my house (a younger gentleman) and looked at the toilet. He then told the person at my house that the toilet wasn't worth repairing and that I needed a whole new toilet. My friend then let him know it worked fine but just needed that piece (flush valve) replaced which I had no experience doing...hence why I called him. He then started making other excuses claiming it was leaking (there was no sign of leaks for the years I've had it). He went on to say that parts were expensive and hard to get so that was why it wasn't worth it. He quickly left and it seemed he either didn't know what he was talking about or just didn't want to work that day. I came home and was told all of this. I decided to do a quick google search and found that all the pieces I needed (flush valve + new screws kit) were about $15. I even found a short youtube explanation of how to change it myself. Without any plumbing experience at all (I'm not even really handy in the first place), I was able to go get the parts from home depot and complete the repair in a little over an hour. The lesson I learned from this is do NOT call Winowski Plumbing unless you want to be ripped off for a $50 service call charge despite being given no accurate or useful information. PS: I refused to pay the charge.
