I have needed a plumber about twice a year since 2015. One time the owner came out and explained how I could do this myself. This business is really about "community" more than price gouging. I really appreciate them telling me how to fix the issue myself. However, today I was not strong enough to make it work. I called them and they sent someone over asap. The plumber they sent was polite and a real gentleman. I appreciate this kind of service. I would definitely tell my friends and neighbors to use them.
THE BEST PLUMBER in NEVADA COUNTY Jeff is a master plumber. He is pure gold. This review is pure gold, too. Read all the way through. Trust me. Most of Jeff's business comes from other plumbers, when they have a job that has them stumped. That tells you everything you need to know. Jeff calls himself a "technician," because he is an expert on every piece of plumbing equipment. He is the local expert on pass-through water heaters, like Takagi and Navien and Rinnai, which most plumbers don't want to tangle with. Pass-through aka on-demand water heaters aren't very common here yet, they're still fairly new to this area, and Jeff is the only plumber in Nevada County qualified to work on them. He was a Takagi factory rep, and he is expert on the other brands as well. Jeff came in here and fixed every single small and large annoying plumbing issue we had, in one visit. (1) A sink faucet that was always loose: turned out to be a metric set screw, I didn't even know metric set screws existed. (2) A hot water issue: he inspected every device in the house that it could be, and found not 1, but 2 culprits, which he replaced. Problem solved. We've had this problem since 2008, no one else could locate it. He also completely checked out the Takagi and gave it a clean bill of health. (3) Toilet seats that keep breaking: he bought me the best quality seat out there, I just didn't know how to tell them apart. (4) And more. I have been disappointed by one plumber after another, for 30 years since arriving here in 1988. Whenever one plumber keeps trying to repair the same problem, and the problem doesn't go away, I keep being forced to move on to a new plumber. Now I don't have to do any more looking. I have the master plumber I've always been looking for, not to mention master car mechanic (John at Volz Bros), master electrician (Dave at Precision Electric), master upholstery technician (Mark at Artist Upholstery), and master heating/cooling people (All-Phase). See my other reviews. When you deal with only the best service people, only the master technicians, life is so much easier. If I need a new service contractor, I call Brad at All-Phase and ask him to refer me to the right person. Brad sent me to Jeff at 49er. You should call Brad, too, or one of these other master service people, if you ever need anything in this county. Having a master contractor working for you brings an added bonus. Ever have problems with the office? They don't schedule you right, they don't show up at the appointed time, they make office mistakes? Jeff's office is as professional as they come. I can't say that for many service businesses in Nevada County, except the ones we finally discovered after decades of trial and error.
