A & E Plumbing & Drain Cleaning

Let me preface this by stating that I usually give businesses the benefit of the doubt. For me to write a poor review means that my experience with A&E was legitimately bad. I had a collapsed clay sewer pipe in my backyard that needed to be excavated and replaced. Before they did the job, I was told my arborvitae trees would be carefully removed, and then replanted once the job was done. I was told that the earth that was excavated would be back-filled, and that they would make an effort to make my yard look as close to the way it was before they started the job......that didn’t happen. My yard was trashed.....literally (keep reading). I watched them rip out the root balls of my trees with the excavator, causing irreparable damage to the roots of the trees. The trees could not be saved as a result of the damage done. These trees could have easily been removed by hand using shovels. Instead, they used their machines to save time....thereby costing me a lot of money. Before bringing the excavator into my yard, they didn’t bother to lay plywood on my lawn to protect my lawn from their equipment. Their excavator dug deep trenches in my lawn, which has turned into a costly repair. I now have to replace 4 mature arborvitae trees, and repair the trenches they created in my lawn. The hole they dug wasn’t properly backfilled, and they left my yard with a large mound of clay. I was told bu the manager that the clay would “go back into the ground in three days”, and to keep the mound of clay watered to help speed the process. It’s been over two months and that mound of clay is still there. It was also a pleasant surprise to find their ‘Natural Light’ beer cans discarded in my flower beds and behind my garage. The French fries, piece of a hamburger, and cigarette butts that I found in my landscape rocks was a nice touch too. I have the pictures to prove it. F’***ing animals. Their poor taste in beer is almost as offensive as the trash they left in my yard. Believe me when I say I am not one to complain about poor customer service. This experience was so bad that I felt compelled to warn others before contracting with A&E. The service they sell you, and the service they deliver are two very different things. Do business with a more reputable company.
