We have had a BGE Home contract for years. The Technicians are usually very good, but the service call center! We called because our central air unit started acting up, called to set up an appointment and was told we had a balance on our bill. Now, we pay our contract within our BGE bill. We went out of state, and on return, we paid off our balance. Told by BGE Home,, they didn't get there portion yet. We have to pay a percentage of the balance before they can send out tech. Now. I had my purse stolen on 8/17, police report everything. My driver's license, insurance cards, credit cards, everything was stolen in my purse! Had to cancel everything, and replace everything! Informed BGE Home that I would have to pay with cash or go get a money order to cover balance and service, even called back again a second time to reiterate our circumstances. Next day waiting, waiting, and waiting for tech. Called in to find out order was canceled! Lied and said they called our home at 7am to inform us!! Lie! Long story short! We've been a customer for years! Only use our contract once every couple of years, You've got paid every month for nothing. Every year for nothing! Why not accommodate a long standing customer and extend the courtesy of letting us pay when the Tech got there. We would rather pay more money for better customer service some where else!!!! Don't waist your money with this company!!! Nobody knows who's who when it comes down to blame!!!
Never had any problems with a service tech, but billing, oh man the billing. My service contracts had the previous homeowners name on it for almost a year. Every bill I sent in I checked the box to change my name please, I even highlighted it the last few times, never happened. So after probably $5 in postage I called, a 30 minute phone call! To change my name to the same one on the form I filled out signing up for a service plan.
Originally I was upset because I was scheduled for an appointment and no one came. I took off work and waited all day. They told me one date and scheduled me for another. The manager Dave contacted me the next day and rescheduled me for a day that worked with my schedule. They came out and fixed my tub. It ended up being no cost to me. I am extremely happy. They made a mistake but definitely made the effort to make it right. I will continue to use BGE Home.
Love BGE Home. Reasonable rates and service techs arrive within window promised. The fan motor on the indoor unit went bad a few days before a really bad heat wave - and the tech came out and kept it working until the new motor came in. John arrive Monday morning to install the new motor - and AC was back to normal within an hour. Online self-scheduling is great - and phone reps are always super helpful and courteous.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to John Orrson who is a service technician at BGE HOME. During his recent visit to fix our air conditioner, John showed his experience and knowledge of our air conditioning system. He was able to diagnose the issue and recommend a fix. He answered all of our questions professionally and courteously. John is a talented professional and sets a great example for the high standards performance of BGE HOME . We will ask for John Orrson the next time we need BGE HOME service. John's performance reflects the productive management style of his team leader and manager at BGE Home.
