If you’re looking for a company to stand by their work and products, you may want to reconsider using James A. Wheat and Sons. In 2014, my husband and I purchased and had the company install a Space Pak AC system in our home. My husband passed away last month and I was trying to reset the timing for the heat to come on and turn off, when I noticed that the digital display on the Carrier thermostat was not completely illuminating. I contacted James A Wheat and Sons, and was advised that Carrier will replace the thermostat (under warranty) but that James A Wheat and Sons was going to charge me $376.00 for the labor to reinstall the thermostat. When the company first installed our AC system, they had forgotten to install the thermostat. When they sent someone out to install the thermostat, it took all of 20 minutes to complete the work. How can this service cost so much! I would think that after spending $21,000 on an AC unit and installation, they would try to provide better service. When I voiced how incredibly disappointed I was, they did bring the price down to $319.00. This is still too much for me to pay.

We are new to DC and needed a sump pump installed. The Glentronics manufacturer recommended a few plumbers in the area and Wheat was by far the best. They will also come back if there is any problem. They stand behind their work. Everyone I have spoken to has been very helpful. I took their service contract for emergency night and weekend service. So far so good!

Great experience. Incredibly professional, helpful and on time. When you are facing problems as large (expensive) as HVAC issues, it’s nice to know you are dealing with the pros. Jason and Herberth were on point, providing insights into the fixes, presenting all the options and providing guidance for handling future issues. The repairs were proactive and preventative in nature, both of which any homeowner would appreciate. Wish I could give six stars.
