I returned to Shreveport four years ago, having inherited our family home, which was built by my grandfather, James L. Monkhouse, a residential r/e developer, who developed several local subdivisions in Shreveport prior to The Great Depression. I have been plagued with many problems related to my antequated septic tank, and had several septic tank companies come out to submit bids for repairs, with no explanation as to how to repair it, did not have a clue as to what to do, or just did not want to be bothered. Then one day a plumber suggested that I contact Bruce Crank with Bayou Septic Services in Haughton and offered that he would not let another person work on his septic tank but Bruce. So I gave Bruce a call and he was at my home in just a few hours, and stayed for several more...He had walked to his truck to get something and stood there for a second, then said to me, "Ms. Files, I am not leaving here till we get your septic tank cleaned out!" And his fee was less than any I had been quoted by those who never showed up to do the work. He worked relentlessly for over three hours, breaking up 70 year old concrete, to create an opening to drain that old tank. I admire Bruce for his professionalism and his tenacity, and I am especially grateful to him for his caring about me as a client..as a person, to make sure I did not lose any more sleep over what had become a potentially dangerous situation. Bruce Crank is a man of integriy and is someone you can depend on to get the job done.
