Great service!!! Super fast.
Extraordinary even for NOLA Ignatius J. Riley standards. Budget came out to fix a leaking second story old-style bath faucet. Needed new seats. Easy. Job done, we paid. Then we discovered the handle had been damaged by channel lock pliers - not to worry, it didn't drip anymore. We then found that it was nearly impossible to turn the hot water off. Called again, they came out, indicated the stem was stripped and needed replacement (Why wasn't this mentioned the first time?). Work done, showed the stripped stem to me and demonstrated it was working, we paid again. All seemed well. Next morning I noticed the ceiling on the first floor under the upstairs bath had water damage (see attached) that no doubt was caused by drainage from pipes when the stem was changed. People, a real plumber would have drained the line before the stem was changed. Rather than risk more property damage we are now repairing the ceiling and repainting it ourselves. Terrible experience that we will not repeat. Beware: use Budget Plumbing at your own risk.
We had Budget Plumbing come out to install 2 water hook ups for our refrigerators. They arrived on time but did not have the supplies to do the job. They went to get supplies then charged us for the time to get the supplies plus double for the supplies, they cut excessively large wholes in the drywall to embed the the fittings and I had to ask them to tape up the wholes as they do not do that. I was very disappointed in the work quality and would not recommend them.
At first I thought budget plumbing was Haven sent. Ms. Jackie came across as one of the nicest lady ever. Until . . ., I had to call them back when my sewer backed up on me again. They give me a contract for $2500, wich I thought was very reasonable considering the prices I received from other plumbing companies. At the end of the job, I received an invoice for $2900. They added an additional $400 because more pipe was needed. That was ok but it should have been explained to me first before the job was continued. Called buget plumbing back 2 weeks later to see if someone could come to unclogged my sewer because it backed up again. The same job I just paid them to fix 2 weeks ago. They wanted to charge me to come out to my house to fix a problem they were supposed to already fix and got paid for. Ms. Jackie exact words were we cannot come out and not get paid. I was like, we should have a warranty on a $3000 job we just paid you to do. This should not be a problem. Called back the next day to see if they were going to come out, within 30 seconds of the conversstion trying to see if we could remedy the problem, Ms. Jackie said she was getting off the phone because she's getting pissed and hung up. I was out done! I would and could never recommend or do business with these people again. Ms. Jackie is a wolfe in sheep clothing.
We hired Budget Plumbing to replace the terracotta pipe with PVC and install a clean out on our main line. This year on the Saturday of Mardi Gras weekend while we had a house full of company our pipes backed up into our house. We called Budget Plumbing but no answer on the weekend and no on call number. Due to the circumstances my husband decided to access the clean out we had paid Budget to install and see if he could fix the issue himself. As he dug the hole where the clean out should have been he found parts of the cleanout. He took pictures as he dug this up and did not cause any damage. In fact the pieces were not broken they just were never put together to begin with. It appeared that that the workers had simply thrown the pieces down in the hole before they covered it up with dirt and claimed to be finished with the job. We paid for this clean out to be installed but it never was. If we had not had a clogged pipe we never would have known we did not get the clean out that we paid for. I called them again on that Monday to give them a chance to address the situation. The woman that answered the phone was very rude and immediately defensive. She said they do not warranty work done two years previously. I tried to explain that this was work that was never completed, not a warranty type situation. I thought at the very least they would listen to what I had to say but that was not the case. She then told me they had used illegal immigrant workers back then and I could call some other person that used to be their partner so he could help me. She also said my husband probably damaged it when he dug the hole and that he should not have touched it. I told her that we tried calling several times and leaving messages but no one called us back. With an extremely rude tone she stated “We are NOT open on the WEEKEND!” then she said “I am NOT in the mood for this!” and hung up on me. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism in my life. Not only did this company charge me to do work that they did not actually do but they were extremely rude and made no effort to right the situation in any way. Do not trust this company! They are the worst!
