My shower in the house refused to drain. It also stopped the two bathrooms, called Drain Mechanics and Josh answered. He took my info and said he would call me right back. 10 minutes later he said a truck could be here in 2 hours. In 2 hours and 10 minutes His Man arrived and within 1 hour and 18 minutes had the sewer line between the house and street unclogged with his machine and was on his way. The Tech was as personable as anyone could be and his troubleshooting and execution was as professional as possible. What a pleasure to have the event completed from the original phone call to paying a very fair bill with ease. I highly recommend Drain Mechanics Plumbing!!!
We have used Drain Mechanics on 2 occasions. The first was due to a drain backup into the house due to an obstruction. They came out promptly the next day, and cleared the obstruction for a reasonable fee. We then had another backup and called Drain Mechanics back, again they came promptly the next morning; in that case I had managed to already clear the obstruction using a household snake. Because we didn't cancel them we still owed a trip charge, which I thought was reasonable. We decided to have our system inspected via video due to having 2 obstructions in just a few months in a house that was only 2 years old. (we had just purchased the home in April of 2019). We assumed that the technician coming to clear the obstruction also had video, and that's why we didn't cancel the visit even though the obstruction did clear. Another crew came out the next day and did a video inspection, and found what they called a "belly" in the pipe and said that was causing our obstructions. They did send us the video of what they found. I spoke to the technician over the phone and he described the work that needed to be done. They said it was necessary to replace the section of pipe that had the incorrect flow; said the job would take approx. 1/2 day (I took that to mean ~4 hours) and that the septic line had to be dug up. I made a statement about probably requiring a backhoe to which the tech replied "sounds like you have been through this before", and in GA I have had similar repairs and due to the depth did require a backhoe. Based on those factors; 4 hours labor, and the use of a backhoe, I agreed to the $875 estimate. The next day a technician showed up with a helper. The helper dug out the pipe, the technician proceeded to cut out the 45-degree elbow that was turned causing an uphill flow, and glue in a new piece of pipe. They arrived at 7:45am and departed by 9:00am. Basically 1hr of labor, and (based on Home Depot retail pricing) ~$17 in parts. In my opinion a gross overcharge. My spouse did call them back and spoke to Josh about the exorbitant charges. Unfortunately their response was essentially "I know your upset, but you agreed to the charge" I feel they purposely misled as to the extent and scope of work required to justify a ridiculous estimate that I agreed to. I take responsibility for not shopping around, that is completely on me. I was dealing with a company that had done good work for a reasonable fee in the past and had no inclination that they would misrepresent this job to the extent that they did. I did get a comparative quote, it was $275 from another licensed and well known septic company that came out and inspected the work first-hand. I apologize to the readers for the length of this review, however I felt it important to lay out all of the facts so that consumers can draw their own conclusions.
Great response time and quality of work provided by Drain Mechanics. I discovered a leak from the exterior wall of our cement block home. This is a problem that I was afraid would be very involved and expensive to correct. We tried contacting several other plumbers, but were having trouble getting a prompt service call. Called Drain Mechanics in the evening, and we had someone on site the next morning. Mark was very knowledgeable and efficient. I had anticipated a much more involved process/effort to correct the problem. I usually don't provide reviews, but we are so pleased with the work that was done. Definitely 5-Star service. Thanks.
We had a leaking water heater and needed it replaced ASAP. These guys were great! Josh came and gave me an estimate, took a look at the situation. He was very nice, all around great guy. He explained the whole process, broke down the price in an easy to understand, fashion. We had a few estimates done, all around the same price. We went with Drain Mechanics plumbing because of the way Josh presented himself and the company. I got a good feeling with Him and I was absolutely right. Due to my Wife's work schedule, the only day we could really do was Sunday, which he did.Josh came out and replaced our water heater as well as pipes that were shot and valves. He was amazing, very friendly. I was highly impressed with him and his work. I normally don’t write reviews but in this case I wanted to.Drain Mechanics plumbing is a great company and like I said earlier,Josh was fantastic!
Absolutely fabulous organization. From leadership to the service staff, they are just an outstanding company with high standards. Easy to communicate with as well. They were able to solve an incredibly complex issue with our home water supply in less than 1 day, while everyone else in town wanted a week to fix it. Recommend without any reservations for jobs both big and small!
