Brook plumbing was contacted to deal with an outside tap that didn't work and to check out the under sink plumbing and remove a water filter. The outside tap was turned on (oops) and the filter was removed. Perhaps 20 minutes work. A connector was required for a washing machine. A lot of time was spent just looking.... by the plumber. The plumber committed to return on the Thursday/Saturday with the part. The cost was requested to which the plumber responded £65.00. This was immediately challenged and when it became apparent that he wasn't dealing with an idiot (when will these tradesman learn!) he reasoned that his labour was £25/£30 and the part could be difference but he'd provide a receipt. The client reasoned that the price could easily be found on the internet. (btw part x2 was obtained from screwfix for £7.00 - so have a spare also :) The plumber left. Almost the immediately the client rang him - call unanswered - leaving a voice mail advising that his work was leaking. Unfortunately he didn't bother: returning to fix the job, returning the call, bringing the spare part or finishing the job. If the plumber's shoddy work had not been checked £1000's worth of damage might have been caused. 23/1 Unfortunately Lego Mart you targeted the wrong person with your bullying reply supporting your friend. You don't do Brooks plumbing any favours. Perhaps you'd care to re read the post above. There is no mentioned of needing anyone to plumb in a washing machine. The requirement was to check the outside tap, check the general state of the plumbing underneath the sink, remove a filter and supply a part. Seems a reasonable request. I note that you don't comment on attempt to overcharge £30 for a part that cost £7.00 (for x2) or the failure to respond to failed work potentially leading to £1000s worth of damage. Interesting !!

I can vouch that Daniel Brook is a quality engineer in every way shape and form, and his plumbing is spot on, I read the last review about Jordan’s washing machine problem and quite honestly if you need a plumber to plumb a washing machine in and then moan about £65 quid you are both lazy and inept.
