Bates Mechanical was contracted to replace my furnace and hot water tank after a sewer backup. This work was complete just over a week after the incident. In addition to this work, we also had a backwater valve installed and a proper laundry station roughed in, which Bates did to code and budget. Highly recommend for any HVAV or plumbing projects, large or small.

Bates Mechanical was subcontracted by a restoration company to hookup my washer and dryer. Bates Mechanical was hired because the restoration company had to take out the machines in order to patch up a hole in the wall behind it. The plumbers from Bates Mechanical arrived TWO hours late at my place. After finding out there was a problem connecting the dryer vent, they simply left my place without even hooking up my washer and left it in the middle of my apartment. As soon as they left my place, I got a call from a Construction Manager from the restoration company saying that he'd call them and ask them to come back. But soon after, I realized they weren't going to as I saw their car leaving from where they were parked on the street. So I called back the Construction Manager, and he was shocked that they didn't stay. And immediately after, they were unreachable. Not only the plumbers were unreachable but also anyone at Bates Mechanical. The plumbers didn't return any of my 20+ calls, voice mails and texts; and the Construction Manager couldn't reach them either. Eventually the Construction Manager found out from Shawn Bates that the crew would be coming back the next morning but with no guaranteed time frame. What happened made me feel very uneasy. So I wrote to the restoration company that I decided to reject all further restoration work, which is just the plumbing part. I decided to use my own plumber at my own cost. If you want a plumber who's punctual, reachable by telecommunication, and able to complete the work they were asked to, even just partially, you can surely put Bates Mechanical on the bottom of your list.
